SMALL SPACE. MANY POSSIBILITIES.

A place for every little thing.

Browse 39 features, see the actual interface,
and find out how each one works.

01 / Everyday

Find your flow

Set a 5, 25, or 50-minute session. Pause, reset, and keep the countdown close.

Choose a duration, then start your session.
02 / Everyday

Make time your own

Switch to a stopwatch when your work needs an open-ended session.

Switch modes inside Focus.
03 / Everyday

Catch the thought

A quiet scratchpad with local autosave and English or Arabic text.

Type freely. Notes stay on this Mac.
04 / Everyday

Keep the good bits

Opt-in text history with search, copying, and confidential-item filtering.

History is held in memory and cleared when disabled or on quit.
05 / Everyday

A home for your files

Keep references to files and folders. Open, reveal, drag out, or share them.

Removing a shelf item keeps the original file.
06 / Everyday

Your apps, at hand

Add app bundles to the shelf and open them with a click.

The shelf can hold apps as well as documents.
07 / Everyday

Stay in the zone

Keep the Mac awake for a one-hour session, with an automatic stop.

Activate only when you need it.
08 / Developer

A real terminal. Right here.

An interactive shell inside the island, backed by SwiftTerm.

The session stays open when you switch tabs.
09 / Developer

Run. Read. Continue.

Run a command in a chosen folder and read its output and exit code.

Stop control is available for running commands.
10 / Developer

Make JSON readable

Validate, format, sort keys, or minify JSON without leaving your workspace.

The screenshot uses a small example document.
11 / Developer

Text, transformed

Base64 and URL encoding, with reverse transformations for both.

Paste input, choose a transform, and copy the result.
12 / Developer

Small tools. Less friction.

SHA-256, UUID, Unix time, ISO timestamps, and text counters.

These tools run locally.
13 / Developer

Find the pattern

Test a regular expression and inspect matches or syntax errors.

Regex shares the code workbench.
14 / Developer

Know where you stand

Read the branch, changed files, diff summary, and recent commits.

The image uses an illustrative project state.
15 / Developer

Pull requests, close by

Browse pull requests for a chosen repository via GitHub CLI.

Requires gh and a signed-in account; the image shows the setup state.
16 / Developer

Stop retyping

Save the commands and templates you reach for again and again.

Click a saved snippet to copy it.
17 / Developer

Keep builds in view

An opt-in local API lets your scripts report progress and completion.

Local-only access with a rotating token; API remains off in these captures.
18 / AI usage

See your AI activity

Local Codex and Claude CLI usage: daily tokens, weekly activity, and cache reuse.

All usage values in the gallery are illustrative, not account balances.
19 / AI usage

Limits with context

Request live Codex rate-limit windows and see the fetch time.

Requires an authenticated Codex CLI. Local tokens are not a bill.
20 / Mac utilities

A quick look outside

Choose a city and check current temperature, conditions, and wind.

Open-Meteo integration; the capture uses sample Lisbon conditions.
21 / Mac utilities

Words without the detour

Apple Translation inside the island on macOS 15 and later.

Language availability and downloads are managed by macOS.
22 / Mac utilities

Your watchlist, nearby

Follow selected tickers with an Alpha Vantage key stored in Keychain.

Quotes can be last-close. Alerts compare prices when refreshed.
23 / Mac utilities

A little room for music

Apple Music or Spotify controls, track details, and artwork when available.

Automation permission is required. The screenshot uses an original demo track.
24 / Mac utilities

Follow the words

Timed or plain lyrics from LRCLIB when you choose to request them.

Availability varies by song. Demo lyrics were written for these captures.
25 / Mac utilities

Know your Mac

CPU, approximate memory use, free disk space, and available sound controls.

System readings in documentation are sample values.
26 / Mac utilities

Sound within reach

Output volume and device selection, plus microphone mute when supported.

Device capabilities vary. This is not a per-app audio mixer.
27 / Mac utilities

Make room to work

Tile a window to the left, right, or available workspace.

Requires macOS Accessibility permission.
28 / Mac utilities

Images, ready to go

Convert selected images to PNG, JPEG, or HEIC where supported.

You choose the input and output location.
29 / Mac utilities

GOOD TO KNOW

The details, without the noise.

macOS says Apple could not verify Notchest. What do I do?

This development release uses ad-hoc signing and has not been Developer-ID signed or notarized by Apple. If you downloaded it from the official GitHub release and trust that source, you can approve this app individually.

  1. Move Notchest into Applications, then try opening it once.
  2. Open System Settings → Privacy & Security and scroll to Security.
  3. Click Open Anyway beside Notchest, then confirm Open. If the button is missing, try opening the app again and return to this setting.

Read Apple’s instructions ↗

Which Mac and macOS versions?

The packaged build is for Apple Silicon. Source targets macOS 13+, with Apple Translation on 15+ and Liquid Glass on 26+. Earlier-system and Intel validation remain on the roadmap.

Does everything need an account?

No. Notes, focus, code transforms, and other local tools work without one. GitHub, account limits, stocks, music, and other connected tools have their own setup requirements.

Are these screenshots real?

Yes. They are captures of the running SwiftUI/AppKit interface in an isolated documentation build. Example notes, usage, system readings, track details, and task events are labeled sample data. No personal accounts, camera, or private clipboard were used.

Can I build it myself?

Absolutely. The project is MIT licensed. Use Xcode 26+ or Swift tools with the macOS 26 SDK, then follow the repository build instructions. Build instructions ↗
